The Learning Enrichment Team in collaboration with parents, class teachers, members of the school community, other professionals within Catholic Education and the wider community, strive to ensure that a continuum of educational options, which emphasise inclusion and cooperation, is provided to cater for the needs of 'special needs' students at Our Lady of the Way.

The team supports the class teachers in:

  • Assessing students' needs,
  • Determining strengths, weaknesses and particular learning styles,
  • Adapting and changing curricula to more adequately meet the needs of the students with special education needs,
  • Providing specialised equipment, instructional techniques and materials as required,
  • Preparing individualised materials (social stories, visual timetables, reward systems and communication boards) and
  • Team teaching, teaching individuals and/or small groups

  • SLEIP - Speech and Language Intervention Program
  • Support-A-Reader Program
  • Support-A-Maths Learner (Number) Program
  • Hands-On Maths for Years 2 and 3
  • Rainbow Road - an Occupational Therapy Program
  • Oral Narrative Program
  • Phonemic Awareness Programs
  • Seasons for Growth Program
  • Lunch Time Craft and Games Club
